Cake pop tutorial!

The other day my mum decided to randomly buy a cake pop machine (cute haha) so when it came in the post I was dying to try it out!

170g plain flour
Half a teaspoon of baking powder
A pinch of salt
60g of softened butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
100g caster sugar
1 egg
60ml of milk

Firstly I turned on the cake pop machine and let it pre heat for around 5 minutes (you will be able to see the heat coming off the machine!) and it says on the leaflet to use a spray on oil to grease the holes but I didn't have one so I just poured some olive oil onto a tissue and dabbed it in each hole! This is important so that the cake pops don't stick to the machine and get ruined!

I didn't put the ingredients in a bowl in any order I literally just threw them in and mixed it until all the bumps we're gone!

Using a tablespoon I put 1 each in each hole, making sure they don't overflow nor  have too little in them!
They should be in the machine for around 4-5 minutes however you should keep checking on them so they don't burn! When they look like they're cooked you should turn off the machine and leave it to cool down for a few minutes before taking the pops out! When I took them out I put each one in a cupcake case to cool down!

Once they've cooled down, using one of the sticks you should've been given with the machine, poke a hole in each of the pops (not all the way through). I then melted some chocolate to use as the icing for the pops, i dipped the top of the stick in chocolate and then into the hole of in the pop, and put them all in the fridge to set for around 20 minutes so the sticks manage to stay in the pops without falling out!

Once they've set using the chocolate, dip  each cake pop in the bowl until the whole of the pop is covered! Then, over a bowl so you don't get everything covered in sprinkles, pour sprinkles on the pop whilst spinning the stick ensuring that you cover the whole cake pop!

You can either turn the cake pops upside down and put them back in the cupcake cases to set or get an apple, cover it in tin foil and then stab each stick into the apple! Then put them into the fridge until the chocolate hardens (20-30 mins) and you're done!
