REVIEW: Lunch at La Sala, Chigwell.

Main course.

WHEN: 21st January 2016.

WHERE: 692-694 Chigwell Rd, Woodford Green IG8 8AL

WHAT: Since its inauguration in 2010, the La Sala establishment has become renowned for its vivacious ambiance, exquisite gastronomy and excellent value for money. Whether for the launch of the latest Bentley or welcoming Jamie Oliver for dinner, La Sala is now receiving worldwide recognition.

Main Course

As you may or may not know, I've visited the La Sala in Marbella so I thought I should give the one in Chigwell a try. The setting inside is very posh, with quite a large range of seats, a big bar and an outside area to sit/drink in. It's its own private car park and Is very popular so I advise to book in advance if you're thinking of taking a visit. They also have two areas for private dining, the Laurent Perrier Suite and the Marqués de Riscal room.
WHAT WE ATE: My mum and I ate from a special Lunch menu, 2 courses for £9.99 I think it was. To start, my mum chose the  'Mozzarella, Parma Ham and Rocket Salad' (minus the mozzarella as she's allergic to cheese) and I had the Deep Fried Salt and Pepper Calamari with Ali Oli Dip. My mum seemed to really enjoy hers as did I. The portion size was just perfect, not too filling so that you couldn't eat your mains but just enough to fill a gap. For mains we both chose the same thing, 'Chicken Milanese topped with Tomato Sauce and Grilled Parmesan Cheese served with a Fresh Spinach Salad and Sautéed Baby Potatoes' (one without parmesan) this was YUM. I have never tasted chicken milanese this good before, and I never thought it would go so well with tomato sauce. I normally have it on its own with a salad or chips. This was filling, the piece of chicken was so thick so it took quite a while to eat as they were extremely generous with portion sizes.

Top: salad to start, Bottom: Calamari to start.

WHAT WE DRANK: Prosecco, because what else is there to drink on a thursday lunch time? (or any lunch time).

OVERALL: I personally think this is SUCH good value for money. Considering the quality of the food and the portion sizes. The main course on its own that we both ate was £15.95 normally, so this is such a good deal for us to pay £9.99 for that and another course. I will definitely be re-visiting this place!

RATING: Lunch Menu: 10/10 100%!!!
